The growth of IB Diploma programme (equivalent to CIE A Levels) internationally and more recently in Pakistan has a sound footing in the merits of the programme. The academic values aimed at in the programme and in cooperation with the standards and practices of IB learner profile help students achieve their maximum potential. With the LGSi aiming to deliver career relevant education that translates academic motivation and guides students to make a more informed choice when deciding which career path to take, career counseling is of great importance. I have been working as a career counselor for the last four years in Pakistan and before that in London, England. During this time, I have worked closely with local and international universities and developed skills that facilitate students in deciding the best career development opportunities available.
The growing demand for more academically and socially involved applicants has been observed in international and Pakistani universities in recent years. In order to promote our students to compete on all international and local levels, a full range of educational options as well as internships and other vocational pathways are considered and advised. Local universities and IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairmen, Islamabad) with their specialized requirements for Engineering and Medicine alongside Economics, Law and specialized sciences, to name a few, are at the heart of the designed programme at LGSi. We aim to invest in the long term success of each of our student’s by helping them to make the right choices now.
Specialized information and criteria, such as standardized test information (SAT/ACT) for international institutions and preparation for aptitude tests (Admission Tests) for local institutions is made available in time to ensure best planning. It is a great advantage that the IB learner profile consists of attributes that universities seek when offering admission. In my capacity as the student counselor, I will try that the best support is provided to students during their stay here at LGSi and to achieve success in higher education and life in a global society. I look forward to the pleasure of working with these great minds of tomorrow.
